EA Waste – Terms & Conditions
1. Definitions
• “Owner” refers to EA Waste.
• “Customer” refers to the person or organisation hiring a skip or using any EA Waste service.
• “Vehicle” refers to any EA Waste vehicle used for delivery, collection, or wait‑and‑load services.
• “Driver” refers to the operator of the Vehicle.
• “Site” refers to the location where the skip is delivered, placed, or collected.
2. Identification
All skips will be clearly marked with EA Waste’s name and contact details.
3. Ownership of Waste
Ownership of the skip contents transfers to EA Waste only once the skip has been collected and loaded onto the Vehicle, provided all Terms & Conditions have been met.
4. Placement of Skips
EA Waste does not place skips on public highways under any circumstances.
This includes roads, pavements, verges, and any land owned or managed by local authorities.
The Customer must ensure the Site is safe, suitable, and accessible.
5. Service Availability
EA Waste will make reasonable efforts to meet delivery and collection times but accepts no liability for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including traffic, breakdowns, weather, or Customer‑related issues.
6. Waiting Time
A reasonable waiting time is included for delivery and collection.
If the Vehicle is kept waiting beyond this period, additional waiting charges may apply.
7. Access to Private Property
If the Customer instructs the Driver to enter private property:
• EA Waste accepts no liability for damage to driveways, surfaces, walls, gates, drains, or underground services.
• The Customer indemnifies EA Waste against any claims arising from such access.
• The Customer is responsible for any damage to the Vehicle or skip caused by unsuitable ground conditions, except where due to Driver negligence.
8. Permissions
The Customer is responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions or access rights for skip placement before delivery.
9. Movement of Skips
The Customer must not move the skip once placed.
If repositioning is required, EA Waste must be contacted to move it safely.
10. Prohibited and Restricted Waste
The following items are not accepted under any circumstances:
• Asbestos
• Gas bottles or cylinders
• Fluorescent tubes
• Clinical or medical waste
• Human or animal waste
• Hazardous liquids
• Flammable liquids
• Hot ash or fire remnants
The following items may be accepted at additional cost (prices vary):
• Plasterboard (must be bagged separately or placed in a plasterboard‑only skip)
• Mattresses
• Commercial fridges/freezers
• POPs‑containing furniture (sofas, armchairs, footstools, office chairs, cushions, etc.)
• Empty paint tins
Any undeclared restricted items found at the waste transfer station may incur additional charges.
11. Customer Responsibilities During Hire
The Customer must ensure:
• The skip is safely and appropriately sited
• The skip is not overloaded (contents must not exceed the top edge)
• No fires are lit in or near the skip
• The skip is not damaged or misused
• No prohibited waste is placed inside
• Access for collection is clear and unobstructed
If a skip is overloaded or unsafe to lift, the Driver may refuse collection and a wasted journey charge may apply.
12. Indemnity
The Customer indemnifies EA Waste against all claims, damages, penalties, or costs arising from:
• The skip’s presence on the Site
• Customer negligence or misuse
• Prohibited or hazardous waste
• Damage caused to property or third parties due to improper use
13. Hire Period
The standard hire period is 7 days.
Extensions may be granted at EA Waste’s discretion and may incur additional charges.
If the skip is not ready for collection on the agreed date, a wasted journey charge may apply.
One clear working day’s notice is required for collection.
14. Delivery & Collection Times
Operating hours are 08:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday.
Requests outside these hours may be accommodated at EA Waste’s discretion.
15. Wait‑and‑Load Services
For wait‑and‑load services, the Customer must ensure waste is ready for immediate loading.
Additional waiting time may incur extra charges.
16. Fires
Fires in skips are strictly prohibited.
Any fire damage will be charged in full, including repair or replacement of the skip.
17. Overloading
If a skip is overloaded or unsafe to lift, the Driver may refuse collection.
A photo may be required before a return collection is arranged.
18. Variation of Terms
No EA Waste employee or agent may alter these Terms & Conditions unless authorised in writing by EA Waste.
